What we believe
At Metro, we believe the gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ! It is the truth about the condition which plagues all mankind, known as sin, and what God has done to overcome sin on our behalf. While it can be communicated in many different ways, the gospel contains 6 core truths:
1. Humans are all sinful and cannot be good enough
2. God sent His Son Jesus, who is fully God and fully Man
3. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice — He was without sin
4. He died for our sins and took our penalty
5. On the third day, He rose from the grave and defeated death
6. We are saved by grace through faith

Below are our beliefs about...
The Bible
The Bible is God's revelation of Himself to all people. It was written by human authors under the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error. It is the supreme authority for Christian beliefs and living.

God
There is one and only one living and true God, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

God the Father
God as Father is self-existent and without limit - all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. He reigns with sovereignty and care over all the universe and the creatures which fill it. He is Father in the fullest sense to all who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the eternally begotten Son of God. Jesus assumed his place in history by taking upon himself a human nature, being both fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of man by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and is now exalted at the right hand of God. He will return in power and glory to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit of God eternally proceeds from the Father and the Son, and is fully divine. He is present in the world to exalt Jesus Christ and convict men of sin, calling them to the Savior. At the moment of regeneration, He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He bestows spiritual gifts on them by which they serve God through His church. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption.

Eternity
Eternity is a forthcoming reality for all people. Jesus Christ will one day return visibly in glory to raise the dead, judge the just and unjust, and bring the world to its appropriate end. In his perfect judgment, Christ will consign those outside of himself to be eternally separated from the benevolent presence of God, enduring everlasting punishment in Hell. The righteous, in their glorified bodies, will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord, giving Him unending praise and glory.

Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
