Metro Volunteering

Volunteer Applications for Fall 2026 are now open!

Applications close Friday, April 3rd.

Metro volunteers are the heartbeat of Tuesday nights.

Serving at Metro is more than filling a role; it is an opportunity to build God’s Kingdom, to live out the gospel in community, and to help create a space where lives are transformed by Jesus.

Every applicant will participate in an interview process, and upon acceptance, new volunteers will be placed on a team where they can serve, grow, and lead alongside others.

Volunteer Teams at Metro

Our volunteer family is comprised of the following teams:

Connect Team

Volunteers seek to connect young adults to active discipleship and community through the church. They are knowledgeable about all Houston's First's Life Bible Study Classes and respective demographics, and ongoing activities, and are excited to advocate the importance of church participation.
Team Leaders: David Ninan and Jaycee Poffinbarger

Creative Team

Volunteers seek to lift high the name of Jesus and exhibit the ways in which he is moving through Metro. This includes capturing photos and videos of Tuesday nights and other outings, coordinating production media on Tuesdays, and creating content and managing media.
Team Leader: Danny Aguinaldo and Evelyn Gonzalez

Environments Team

(Female Only) Volunteers cultivate “set-apart” environments where the Metro team and guests will feel welcomed and invited into God's presence. Volunteers will also plan, organize, and execute Metro events such as Late Nights.
Team Leader: Kat Cooley

Ops Team

(Male Only) Volunteers support and promote the excellence of the volunteer family by serving the physical needs for the operation of each volunteer team. The Ops team also aids our production staff by operating the in-room cameras, supporting on-stage elements, coordinating off-stage communications, and contributing to any other production needs.
Team Leader: Chewy Morin

Prayer Team

Volunteers lead our people in dependence on Jesus by interceding on behalf of young adults through prayer. Prayer will take place at various times throughout the night including during the response time after the message.
Team Leaders: Kobie Abram and Megan Kersten

Resource Team

Volunteers will provide young adults resources for their spiritual development and merchandise to promote what God is doing at Metro on Tuesday nights.
Team Leaders: Evan Boualiane and Felicity Molina

Welcome Team

Volunteers purposefully engage all Metro attendees with the joy of Jesus Christ, making them feel welcome and at home as they are greeted.
Team Leaders: Allison Malone and David Stokley
